When I tried the two truths one lie I noticed that you can tell by someone’s eyes when they are lying also they sometimes look away. When I did two lies and one truth I noticed more closely that sometimes you start to fidget a little. Also sometimes depending on how obvious the lie is you tend to want to laugh or smile because you are telling an obvious lie, however when telling the truth you are not so tempted to laugh or fidget as you know it is the truth.
When I started writing down the question’s I notice quite quickly that they all had either who, what when, where or why. Asking open minded questions usually uses these words as it asking for information and not a yes or no. Using these questions is more beneficial for getting solid information and not weak yes or no answers.
I think the next for a Jedi is when asking for help or guidance not to ask close minded questions as it will not help them understand why. Example a Jedi asks “I feel useless, am I useless?” If someone says yes you are how will they know why? A Jedi should use open minded questions to receive understanding as well as knowledge, or when asking someone about something. “Is the town this way?” a person may say yes but you still won’t know exactly where up that way. However if you ask “Where is the town?” you get a solid idea of where the town is. Also a Jedi may be able to find out information for benefit of keeping the peace, finding out if someone has done something and not lied about it.
These exercises brought about the fact that we always have signs of lying and no matter what we do we will always have them as we know that we are lying. Also that a lot of us do not notice how much close minded questions we ask and although it’s not always a bad thing we should be asking more open minded questions and receive solid information rather that weak information.
