Leadership at School

Posted by: Student Tai on: December 12, 2009

I remember it was at school and in class we got separated into groups. I was with my friends but it made no difference. We had to have a team leader and no body wanted to take the opportunity. I stepped forward and took the place. It felt good to be a leader being able to help everyone and be a person who they trusted in for help. If they needed me I gave them all I could. It felt good to be in control but not in a selfish sense, but in a sense that I could keep things peaceful. If I hadn’t gotten that experience I probably would not have had the confidence to step forward that it taught me. I had never been very confident at being in charge but this showed me how good it was. It gave me more confidants and made me chose that position more often as I knew that I had the ability to keep everything under control.

I really enjoyed taking this course for leadership! And let me be the first to applaud you on this example. Many students feel as though they are leaders rather than followers; but that is not always so.

This course will focus on both theory and application of being a Leader and it was a great supplement for me at work. It sounds like you have a good basic understanding of some of the characteristics and you’ll learn a lot!
